The Key Laboratory of Advanced Eco-Environmental Materials focuses on the key issues facing the efficient preparation of eco-environmental materials, advanced processing technology, and engineering. It mainly studies biodegradable polymer materials represented by polylactic acid and carbon dioxide-based plastics. Water resources polymer materials represented by molecular materials and flocculant materials, environmentally friendly anticorrosive polymer materials represented by polyaniline and ultraviolet curing resins, and processing engineering of ecological environment materials are one of four research directions. At present, the laboratory area is more than 2500m2, which is distributed in the synthesis building (500m2), new building (600m2), polymerization base (500m2), comprehensive building (700m2), etc., and has the basic equipment required for polymer synthesis, analysis, and processing. There are currently four research directions in the laboratory, with 54 permanent staff. Among them, there are 53 fixed personnel in research and technology, including 1 academician, 10 researchers, 11 associate researchers, 1 senior engineer and senior experimenter, 26 assistant researchers, 1 engineer, and 2 research interns. There are 20 researchers with a doctorate degree, accounting for 37%, 19 researchers with a master's degree, accounting for 35.2%, and 39 researchers with a master's degree, accounting for 72.2%. In addition, there are 5 post-doctoral students, 37 PhD students, 15 postgraduates, and 57 postgraduates.
Undertook major and key plans in related fields by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Natural Science Foundation of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Science and Technology of Jilin Province (see the section on scientific research tasks undertaken for details).
